Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Rational Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the CalmFan: Sleep Fan Noise mobile application (“CalmFan” or the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App, why it is processed, how long it may be retained, and how you can request deletion or remove locally stored data.
By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. No User Account or Direct Personal Information Submission
CalmFan does not require account registration, login, or a user profile. The App does not ask you to directly submit your name, email address, phone number, photographs, contacts, precise location, payment information, or other personal details to Rational Studio.
Rational Studio does not operate a CalmFan account database or a custom server that stores personal user profiles.
3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The App may store limited operational information locally on your device, such as:
- Theme preference, including light or dark mode;
- Whether the first-launch experience has been completed;
- Advertising display counters and the time an interstitial advertisement was last shown;
- Privacy and advertising consent choices managed through Google’s consent tools; and
- Other temporary settings required for normal app operation and media playback.
This local information is used to remember settings, operate App features, avoid showing advertisements too frequently, and respect applicable privacy choices. Rational Studio does not receive this locally stored information through a custom Rational Studio server.
Depending on your Android device and backup settings, some App settings may be included in an Android or Google device backup and may be restored after reinstallation. Such backups are controlled by your device platform and Google account settings.
4. Third-Party Advertising and Consent Services
CalmFan uses Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display App Open, Banner, and Interstitial advertisements. The App also uses the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to manage consent and privacy choices where required.
Information Google services may process
Google’s advertising technologies may automatically collect and share limited information, including:
- IP address: This may be used to estimate a device’s general or approximate location. CalmFan does not request access to your device’s precise GPS location.
- App interactions: Information such as app launches, taps, advertisement interactions, and similar usage events.
- Diagnostic and performance information: Information such as app or SDK launch time, performance, crashes or hangs handled by the advertising SDK, and energy usage.
- Device or other identifiers: This may include the Android advertising ID, App Set ID, and other identifiers used by Google advertising services where applicable.
Purposes of processing
This information may be processed by Google for advertising, ad delivery, measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and compliance purposes. Advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your consent, region, device settings, and applicable law.
Consent and privacy choices
Where required, Google UMP may display a consent message and store your privacy choices. If the App shows a “Privacy options” control, you can use it to review or change available consent choices. You may also manage or reset your Android advertising ID through your device’s privacy or advertising settings.
5. Data Sharing
Rational Studio does not sell personal information.
Information described in Section 4 may be transmitted to and processed by Google and its advertising partners as necessary to provide advertising, measurement, analytics, security, and fraud-prevention services. Google acts according to its own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or where reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, Rational Studio, or the integrity of the App.
6. App Permissions
CalmFan may use the following Android permissions and capabilities:
- Internet and network state: Used to load advertisements, consent messages, and external pages such as the Privacy Policy or Play Store.
- Notifications: Used to display an ongoing media playback notification and playback controls while fan sound is active.
- Foreground media playback: Used only after you start fan sound so audio can continue while the App is minimized or the screen is locked.
- Wake lock: Used as needed to support continuous user-requested media playback.
- Advertising ID and Android advertising services: Used by Google advertising technologies where available and permitted.
CalmFan does not request permissions for precise location, camera, microphone, contacts, call logs, SMS, calendar, or general photo and file storage.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the limited nature of the App. Local preferences are stored within the App’s private storage area, subject to Android device protections and backup settings.
Google states that data transmitted by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS). However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
Data retained by Rational Studio
Rational Studio does not maintain user accounts or a custom server database for CalmFan. We therefore do not retain personal user profiles on Rational Studio servers.
Locally stored App data
Local preferences and operational settings remain on your device until you clear the App’s storage, uninstall the App, or the Android operating system removes them. Certain settings may remain in or be restored from Android or Google backup services if device backup is enabled.
Data processed by Google
Google and its advertising partners retain information according to their own retention schedules, legal obligations, security requirements, and privacy policies. Rational Studio does not control the retention periods applied by independent third-party service providers.
9. Data Deletion
No account deletion is required
CalmFan does not create user accounts. Therefore, there is no CalmFan account or Rational Studio user profile to delete.
Delete locally stored App data
You can delete data stored locally by CalmFan using either of these methods:
- Open your Android device’s Settings, select Apps, select CalmFan: Sleep Fan Noise, select Storage, and tap Clear storage or Clear data.
- Uninstall CalmFan from your device.
If Android or Google backup is enabled, you may also need to manage or delete the App’s backup through your device or Google account backup settings to prevent previously backed-up settings from being restored.

Please describe the nature of your request and provide only the information reasonably necessary for us to identify and respond to it. We will review and respond within a reasonable period as required by applicable law.
Because Rational Studio does not maintain CalmFan user accounts or a custom personal-data database, we may confirm that no server-stored user record exists. Data processed independently by Google must be managed through Google’s privacy, advertising, and account controls or through Google’s applicable request process.
10. Children’s Privacy
CalmFan does not provide account registration or forms through which children directly submit personal information to Rational Studio. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through a Rational Studio server.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has directly provided personal information to Rational Studio, contact us using the email address below. Third-party advertising services process information according to their own policies and applicable child-privacy requirements.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s features, third-party services, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated version will be posted at the App’s Privacy Policy URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or store listing where appropriate.
